Life in a criminal defense law firm is never easy, and now the U.S. Marshals Service is trying to make a difficult job even harder by moving our clients several hours away. But the CJA and FDP lawyers of the Northern District of Georgia are resisting the USMS’s effort to obstruct our clients’ Sixth Amendment rights. We want to celebrate that resistance, as well as countless other forms of resistance in this legal community we inhabit together.

Please join us at our annual St. Crispin’s Day festival to support one another, to acknowledge the work that binds us together, and to applaud our collective resistance against power. At this year’s event, we will hear about all forms of resistance from guests stars like Don Samuel of Garland, Samuel & Loeb; Dumaka Shabazz, the Federal Public Defender in the Middle District of Tennessee; Laura Mate of the Sentencing Commission, Tina Woehr of the Sentencing Resource Counsel, Cristina Borde and Caroline Boddie of the Federal Capital Trial Project, and more incredible speakers.

We will celebrate St. Crispin’s Day over two days on October 21-22, 2026, at the State Bar of Georgia, and we hope you will be able to be there with us. If you have not yet registered, click on the link here, and add your name to the list. See you all soon.
